On the morning of October 23, 2024, the first LNG dual-fuel 16,000 TEU containership "MSC SIENA" built by Yangzi Xinfu Shipyard of Yangzijiang Ship building Group for ship owner Mediterranean Shipping Line (MSC) was untied from the shipyard dock and delivered to the ship owner for operation.
This ship is another large container ship equipped with 9 Ni steel B-type LNG fuel tank built by Yangzijiang Ship building Group after the LNG dual-fuel 7000 TEU container ship. The fuel tank capacity exceeds 13,000 cubic meters. There are 12 ships in this series, with a total length of about 366 meters, a length between two columns of 355. 4 meters, a beam of 51 meters, a depth of 30.2 meters, a designed draft of 14.5 meters, and a structural draft of 17 meters.
The fuel tank was installed with TiG Panel system, tailor made for the complex geometries of the tank, this takes Ti China to 16 delivered vessels to Yangzijiang yard, manufacture & installation is progressing on the subsequent 11 vessels in construction.
